Biography
Joseph F. Miklojcik, Jr. is a Professor Emeritus of the Theater Arts Department of the Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University. He was a member of the faculty on the New Brunswick campus for thirty four years where he taught theatrical design and painting. He earned his degrees at Northwestern University and the University of Connecticut at Storrs.

Now a full time resident of Aruba, his attention is devoted entirely to studio and easel painting. Prior to living in Aruba his work has been featured in a number of group shows in New Jersey including the Ellerslie Gallery and Mercer County Arts Gallery.

Peppers #2In five of the ten years that Joe designed Opera at Rutgers his work was recognized by awards from the National Opera Association, two of them, Cosi Fan Tutti and La Boheme, as best university productions in the nation for that year.  Both of these productions were funded in part by grants from the Loree Foundation.

Joe also designed the original productions of a number of new plays that have gone on to fame; notable among them are William Mastrosimmone’s Extremities and The Woolgatherer.
